ALL-ELECTRIC (BEV)

100% electric vehicle. All-Electric cars are powered by electricity alone, meaning they must be charged before you can drive them. The travel distance for a fully electric vehicle can vary from 100 – 300 miles, depending on the newness of the vehicle.

PLUG-IN HYBRID (PHEV)

Plug-in Hybrids have the two sources of power like a Hybrid, but with a larger high voltage battery, enabling you to drive longer distances on All-Electric power. A PHEV can travel an estimated 30 miles solely on electric power.

HYBRID (HEV)

Hybrid vehicles have two sources of power. They can automatically switch between conventional mod and pure electric mode (recommended for short distances) or you can use both to power the vehicle as needed.

MILD HYBRID (MHEV)

Mild Hybrid vehicles have two sources of power that work together – a conventional engine and a battery -driven electric motor. The electric motor does not power the car, it just assists it.

How do I charge my Electric/Hybrid vehicle?

There are 3 ways in which you can charge your vehicle.

  1. Regenerative Braking – This charges the battery by capturing the energy that is typically wasted during braking.
  2. 23OV Wall Outlet – Plug-in Hybrids and All-Electric vehicles can be charged from a standard wall socket.
  3. Wallbox – A Wallbox can be installed in your home for faster/overnight charging.
  4. Public Charging Stations – All-Electric and Plug-in Hybrids can be charged at public charging stations. These stations can be found at public car parks, filling stations and shopping centres and can charge your car much faster than you can at homAll
